While this may excite Pro-Palestinians, it is essential to remember that the name “Israel” is associated with Prophet Yaqub, whom Allah referred to as such (Al Imran 3:93). In fact, many passages in the Bible also refer to him by this name.

Similar to the Yoruba adage, “Ọmọ ọsàn ló n kò ìyà jẹ ìyá rẹ̀” (the fruit of the orange causes its mother pain), the actions of Zionist Israel are causing the pejoration of the name of the Noble Prophet Yaqub, the son of Prophet Ismail, and the grandson of Prophet Ibrahim.

This alone is reason enough for us to refrain from making mockery of the name. Additionally, it’s crucial to understand that the etymology of the name means “Slave of Allah,” akin to Abdullah. The “إسرا” signifies slave, and “إيل” is the name of Allah.* Similar to his uncle Ismail, who means “God hears me.”

Therefore, as it may not be appropriate to say “got Abdullahed” in a negative manner, it is better to use “Zionism” to refer to the atrocities committed by the state of Israel. Get Zionized?
